I'm Delta Gamma Born and Delta Gamma Bred

Just found out dad’s going back to Afghanistan and I’m not feeling too great about it. He’s going on the 11th. I need some sisterly love.

Yesterday I had the craftathon of the century with a friend of mine who is a Sigma Delta Tau. I made a ton of stuff, but most importantly I finished my Big’s paddle. I’m dying to put the picture of it on tumblr because it turned out so wonderful BUT since she hasn’t had a chance to see it yet I figure I shouldn’t put it online and spoil the surprise. I also made some stuff for my little-in-law (my fiancee’s little) that I can’t wait for her to see. In about two weeks I’ll be getting my tattoo and my fiancee and my big plan on being there. Overall, it’s been a very DGriffic week. 

I’m so happy that I have so many people in my life that encourage me to DO GOOD. I was interviewed for a teaching position on Friday. I had no intention of teaching this upcoming year because I’ll be in grad school, too. But this school could use another teacher with the training I’ve had - it’s way out in the country, and it’s hard for them to find staff. After talking with my mom, my supervising teacher, my fiancee, and my Big I noticed they all had the same thing to say: Think of how much GOOD you could DO. (I told my Big she was playing the ‘do good’ card, she said she wouldn’t be my big if she didn’t). Even though it’ll be hard to be a first year grad student and a first year teacher, I’m starting to get really excited. I hope I get the job!
